Raindrop Thechnique

Raindrop Thechnique is a powerful, non-invasive tool for helping to correct defects in the curvature of the spine.

Raindrop Thechnique originated from the research of D. Gary Young N.D. and a Lakota medicine man almost two decades ago.  It integrates Vita Flex and message therapy with essential oils to bring the body into structural and electrical alignment.

Raindrop Thechnique is based on the theory that many types of scoliosis and spinal misalignments are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine.  These pathogens create inflammation, which, in turn controls and disfigures the spinal column.

The principle oils used are: thyme (Thymus vugaris), oregano (Origanum compactum), cypress (Cupressus sempervierens), peppermint (Mentha pipertia), basil (Ocimum basilicum), and marjoram (Origanum majorana).  The oils are dispensed like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches and massaged alongside the vertebrae.  Although the entire process takes about 40 minutes to complete, the oils will continue to work in the body for 5 to 7 days following treatment, with continued realignment taking place during this time.

Raindrop Thechnique is not a cure-all or a magic bullet.  A healthy body is the result of a well-rounded program of exercise and proper diet.  Health is everything we do, say, hear, see, and eat.  Raindrop Therapy is only one tool to help restore a balance of good health.

Although this therapy is explained as simply as possible, it is recommended that you view the “Science and Application” video from Essential Science Publishing so that you can see this therapy demonstrated firsthand.  Viewing this video, combined with the outline presented here, will make this revolutionary therapy relatively easy to understand and put into practice.

Order in Which to Apply Essential Oils.

Step 1—Valor helps balance electrical energies within the body, giving you courage, confidence, and self-esteem. It has also been found to help the body self-correct its balance and alignment.

Step 2—Thyme is one of the most antiseptec essential oils. It contains thymol, which has been studied for its effects on reducing bacteria in the mouth. As a dietary supplement, it is one of the strongest antioxidants known, with an ORAC score of 159,590.

Step 3—Oregano is highly damaging to many kinds of microbes and was recently shown in labratory research conducted at Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, to have a 99 percent rate of reducing airborn bacteria. Oregeno scorec 153,007 on the ORAC scale.

Step 4—Basil Can be relaxing to muscles, including sooth muscles. It may also be used to soothe insect bites when applied topically. Benificial for mental fatigue, basil may help stimulate and sharpen the sence of smell.

Step 5—Marjoram is used for releiving sore muscles and supporting the respiratory system. Marjoram assists in calming the nerves and has antiseptic properties.

Step 6—Cypress is one of the oils used to support the circulatory system.

Step 7—Peppermint is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion. Jean Valnet, M.D., studied peppermint's effect on the liver and respiratory systems. Other scientist have also researched peppermint's role in improving taste and smell when inhaled.

Step 8—Ortho Ease Massage Oil was crafted after extensive testing and has been used in European hospitals. It is designed to soothe muscle discomfort and minor swelling.

V-6 Mixing Oil or any massage oil is required to dilute essential oils high in phenols that may produce an excess warming or reddening to the skin, a problem that occurs often with fair- and light-skinned people.  Following the application of thyme and oregano, it may be necessary to apply 2-3 drops of massage oil over areas with excess warming or reddening.

Ortho Ease is to be applied over the entire area after you have finished with the Raindrop Therapy.  This blend has been reported to be beneficial for stress, muscle cramps, arthritic pain, and tension.

Preparation

·        Remove all jewelry.  This includes watches, pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings, etc.  These could interfere with the electrical frequencies and flow of energy.

·        Remove all tight fitting clothing.

·        When giving the therapy, you should have your fingernails clipped and filled down short as possible.  This will avoid your unintentionally scratching your patient.

·        When needing to drop the oils into your hand, put them into the non-dominant hand.  Then use the dominant hand to rub them tree times clockwise to stir the oils.  This will increase their frequency.

·        You will need three medium size towels, hot water, and a sheet or blanket to protect the modesty of the individual while they move around.

To Begin

·        The patient should lie face down on the massage table with the head slightly lower than the rest of the body, preferably resting in the face cradle.

·        The patient should lie as straight as possible with the hips flat on the table.  The arms can be resting alongside the body

Step 1: Application of Valor.  This procedure forms the foundation of everything that follows.

·        Place 6 drops of Valor in each hand.

·        Apply oil to the bottom of the feet: right hand holding right foot and left hand holding left foot.  The facilitator may kneel or sit while touching the feet.

·        The palm of the hand should be flat against the bottom of the feet, with as much hand-to foot contact as possible.

·        Apply 3 drops on each shoulder: right hand placed on right shoulder, and left hand placed on left shoulder.  There must be as much hand to shoulder contact as possible.  It works best if there are two people to apply Valor.  One to apply oils to the feet, the other to apply oils to the shoulders.  However, if you are working by yourself, the application works well just holding the feet, which is the most important.

·        Let your mind be free and peaceful.  Encourage the recipient to take deep breaths.  Have them inhale and exhale deeply and slowly, allowing them to engage in their own healing.  You may feel an energy flowing up through the patient into your body.  The receiver may feel a little heat or tingling on the feet, or an energy working up through the legs to the back, even as high as the head.  With some individuals, the giver may feel the hands become cold.  Many times you may feel a pulsating feeling.

·        Do not break contact with the individual.  Hold your position for 5-10 minutes.

In most cases, you will see some realignment of the spine.  The vertebrae can move under the skin with just this small amount of application.  The result will depend largely on the frequency of the person holding the feet.  If there are people present with negative attitudes, or if the person applying the oils lacks a high enough frequency to block out the negative interference, the result may be less than optimal.  One should not touch another person if they are feeling angry, negative, or sick.

Step 2: Application of oregano and thyme.

·        Hold the bottle six inches above the skin and evenly space 5 drops of each oil along the spine from bottom to top (sacrum to atlas).

·        Apply one oil, layering it on along the curvature of the spine.  Apply the second oil the same way.  It does not matter which oil is applied first.

·        You do not need large drops; more is not better.  If there is a burning sensation, apply massage oil.

·        With 4-inch brush like strokes, flare your fingertips out to the side as you feather up the spine.  The right hand will move to the right and the left hand will move to the left.  Repeat motion two more times.

·        Starting at the sacrum, stroke up 8 inches before flaring out again.  Repeat two more times.

·        Starting at the sacrum, stroke up 12 inches before flaring out again.  Repeat two more times.

·        Continue this therapy until your strokes feather up to the atlas.  Flare your fingertips out over the shoulders when you reach the top.  Repeat two more times.

·        Repeat this whole sequence three times.

Step 3: Application of basil, cypress, marjoram, and peppermint.

·        Apply 4-5 drops of basil along the length of the spine.   Layer it in by evenly spreading it with your fingertips.

·        Repeat using the other 3 oils in sequence.

·        Starting on one side of the spine, gently massage the oils in along the spine.  Do not work directly on the spine.  Do not force it or apply direct pressure to the spine.  Start at the sacrum and use the fingertips of both hands placed side by side.

·        In a circular clockwise motion, work up the side of the spine to the atlas, pushing or pulling the tissue in the direction you want the spine to move.

·        After finishing on side of the spine, start on the other side.  Repeat this procedure two more times.

·        Using the index and middle finger of either hand, place the fingers so that they straddle the spine.  Start at the coccyx (bottom of the spine) and move to the top.  Always work directionally towards the brain.  With mild pressure and the fingers on either side of the spine, place one hand over the top of the fingers.  Then, in a gentle seesawing motion, rock the fingers back and forth while moving gently down the spine to the sacrum.  Repeat this procedure two more times.

·        Beginning at the sacrum, with your thumbs on either side of the spine, you will use the Vita Flex therapy working up the spine approximately a thumb’s width apart with each move up to the atlas.  With the thumbs on each side of the spine, nail side up and slightly angled out, rock the thumbs so they point upwards with the joints slightly bent.  Then, apply a mild pressure straight down.  Continue to roll your thumbs slightly over onto the nails, and then release.  Move your thumbs up about ˝ a thumb’s width and apply the same therapy.  Do this all the way to the atlas.  Repeat two more times.

Step 4: Back massage with massage oil.

Apply 20-25 drops of Ortho Ease to each side of the spine, (not on the spine) into the muscle tissue of the back.  Work the oils in all over the back, using a gentle massage for a few minutes.  After the oils have been massaged in, rest for five minutes.  Then apply Ortho Ease over the entire back and legs.

Step 5: Towel placement

·        Place a dry towel over the back.  Then lay a hand towel (soaked in hot water and folded in thirds) along the entire length of the spine.

·        Place another dry towel (folded in half) over the wet towels.

·        Pay close attention because the back can become very hot.  The heat will generally build slowly and peak in 5-8 minutes before cooling down to the point where it feels pleasant.  The greater the inflammation and viral infection along the spine, the hotter the area along the spine will become.

Some will experience no heat, while others will find it mild and pleasant.  Still others may find it uncomfortably hot.  Pay attention to your patient.  Ask questions.  If the heat becomes too uncomfortable, remove the towels and apply massage oil on the back.  Then work it in.  This will usually remove the heat within minutes.

After placing the towels, wait several minutes to gauge the individual’s response.  If the back does not become very hot, have the individual roll over on his/her back.  This usually creates more heat.

Step 6: leg massage with basil, cypress, and peppermint.

·        Apply 5-6 drops each of basil, cypress, and peppermint along the inside of the lower legs.  Start at the top of the knee and follow the shin. Bone down to the heel and sideways to the big toe on each foot.  Apply one oil at a time, in order, massaging each oil in before applying the next oil.

Place the finger of one hand along the inside of the shinbone just below the knee.  Work the fingers down the ankle and then along the foot up to the top of the big toe using the Vita Flex therapy.  Roll your fingers up and then over onto the nails of the finger, applying slightly more pressure at the top of the roll and releasing as you come over onto the nail.  The person on whom you are working would appreciate short nails.  Repeat this procedure three times on each leg.

Step 7: Stretching

·        This next step works best with two people.  With the individual on his/her back, have your assistant hold each leg tightly, just above the ankles, while you cradle the individual’s head under your right hand.  Then place your left hand around the chin and gently pull to create tension.

·        Hold this traction for several minutes.  Do not pull hard.  The person holding the feet will act as the anchor, while you begin a mild rocking motion, repeatedly pulling and releasing.  Continue the rocking motion from 4-8 minutes.

Step 8: Checking results.

·        With the individual lying face down, with his/her head snug in the head cradle of the massage table, make sure the person is lying straight.  Remove the towels and then check the spine.  Corrections may or may not be visible.  At this point you may need to add another therapy.  Occasionally results take several days to take effect.

Commentary:

This is the basic Raindrop Thechnique, although there are several variations.  However, these are not easy to explain and require class instruction and demonstration.  Every person is different, and what works for one may not work for another.  Different body types respond to this application in ways you may not expect.  Learn to be sensitive to the person on whom you are working so that you can respond to his or her needs.

The question is often asked, “How long does this application last?”  again, each person responds differently.  Generally speaking, the level of health and proper diet are key factors, as are exercise and attitude.  One application may last four months for one person, but then for another person it may be necessary to have the application repeated every week until the body begins to respond.  The key is to retrain the body.  In some cases, you will have to develop a new memory in the tissue in order for the body to stay where it should be.  This may take a few weeks or even a full year.

Spinal alignment may have a completely different look when the individual is lying down, rather than sitting.  There is more torque on the spine in a sitting or standing position, so these are the positions in which X-rays are usually taken.  There may appear to be a total correction when the individual is lying down and then appear to be crooked when they are in a sitting position.  This variance is normal and may be apparent until a total retraining of the tissue can occur.  The object is to achieve straightening in all positions.

The Raindrop Thechnique is a powerful tool that not only can assist therapists but help everyone achieve a balance in the body.
