Angelica, a favorite Victorian cottage garden flower, is a native of Scandinavia that found its way into European herbalism in the Middle Ages. In this combination, it is included for its sedative, muscle relaxing and pain-relieving properties as noted in traditional folk literature. All three herbs in this combination have a long history of use as tonics in Native American and Eclectic herbalism.
